I’m back bitches!
I booked my surprise detour from Amsterdam Schiphol airport so I had to return back to Trisha before leaving for good!
After a long travel day back with part of it being in the rain, I think we just made food and watched a show!
May 5th was Amsterdam Liberation Day so another day celebrating in the streets. We had a chill morning. I was meant to write my blog posts then but I was so tired I couldn’t concentrate. And honestly, I’m more exhausted now but I have time to burn in the airport so here we go!
The Liberation Day festivities had more direction than King’s Day. There were tents and DJs set up, a mini Ferris wheel, a silent disco, and food trucks. I had a great time. The smoke inhalation was kept to a minimum and it was a nice warm day to be spending outside. No complaints! We got some tasty dinner at a Korean chicken place and then biked home. Trisha and one of her dorm mates watched an F1 racing competition in the evening. I sat in and watched too while also doing laundry. It was a pretty exciting race and also the first one I have ever seen. I don’t think I’m gonna become a big F1 watcher though!
On the 6th I picked up last-minute surprise detour items I needed while Trisha was at school. I walked through the tulip market which is like an entire block dedicated to tulips, tulip bulbs, wooden tulips, tote bags with tulips, keychains, etc.). There were actual plants but it also seemed like a tourist trap a bit! I wanted to do an Amsterdam street art walking tour but I got a wave of nausea and decided to just nap for the rest of the day back at Trisha’s (I was okay just a symptom of getting your period… yay!).
I asked Trisha to make me that Middle Eastern dish again with the eggplants as my last meal. Again, it was SO good! I’m going to need to try and recreate it at home cause it was seriously good! Then I packed and caught my flight early the next day to head to my final destination for my Europe tour!
Thanks for following along again!
